The purpose of the Redeemer Leadership Board is to set and regulate policy for the congregation. It does this by monthly review of policies, setting goals and outcomes for these policies, and holding staff accountable for the accomplishment of these goals.
The Leadership Board will establish several new boards to provide for the necessary governance to assure that congregational needs are being met in an expedient and Christ-honoring manner.
The Leadership Board will be seeking to fill three positions in December, as three of the board members will reach the end of their terms. The term is set to be three years for each position with a maximum of six consecutive years of service in that position. The Leadership Board (Vestry) members are approved for office by the voters. Members may submit nominations for vacancies for this board to the church office or to any Board member during September through early November of each year for the three members who have served their term. A vote on the next year's slate of officers is taken in December at the semi-annual Voter's Assembly.
A budget proposal for the next year is also presented for a vote at that time. This is a new governing board set up to provide leadership and oversight to the staff and pastor as they form a ministry plan and move the congregation of Redeemer toward its God-given vision and mission.
This is an opportunity to develop relationships while doing the important work of God to plan for the future. Being a team player and a possessing a willingness to mature as a servant leader are important qualities in this position. God is glorified by faithful, gifted servant leadership. He has called each one of us for work in His kingdom.
