Born and raised in the Thumb area of Michigan, Tom migrated southward to the Jackson area in 1968, retired from public schools in 1996 and now keeps busy by helping his wife Jan manage their family business.
Between them, Janet and Tom have eight children between the ages of 39 and 7 years. They also have nine grandchildren and two great grandchildren. In his spare time he helps out with their daughter Karlee's Girl Scout meetings, organizes and coaches Concord Youth Coach Pitch and T-Ball leagues. The rest of the time he can be found camping, fishing, hunting, playing golf or at a Lions game.
Tom serves on the Leadership Board, the Sunday Morning Evangelism and Community Outreach Committees along with other numerous church activities.
