Redeemer’s middle school youth attend Confirmation Class. This in-depth examination of the Christian faith, studied through the lens of Luther’s Small Catechism, helps students expand their knowledge of Scripture and provides them with a foundation for a lifelong journey of growing in their faith. Each May, the 8th grade students affirm their baptismal covenant and publicly profess their faith at the Confirmation church service. At that time, the students also receive Holy Communion for the first time and are welcomed as members of the Lutheran Church–Missouri Synod.
Pastor Geml and Craig Britton lead Confirmation Class, which meets on Sundays mornings from the Sunday after Labor Day through the second Sunday of May from 9:20-10:20 a.m. in the library. Because we believe that God has designed parents to be the primary teachers of the faith at home, one or both parents are asked to attend class with their student.
